I am Jenny Holmes, president of the Spartanburg Knitting Guild 2023-2024. I am very honored to serve our group in this role.
I started knitting at the age of 10 under the watchful eye of my maternal grandmother. I loved learning from her and eventually made my first cardigan sweater. Later on, I taught myself to crochet and made several blankets and doilies.
As I think happens to some of us, I put knitting and crocheting on hold to venture into other needle and sewing arts…. smocking and then quilting. Since the little ones are grown and I quilting is not too portable for me, I came full circle back to knitting and crocheting about 7 years ago. I found myself making many friends with folks having the same passions and joined the Spartanburg Knitting Guild. This group, as well as the sit and knit group at Palmetto Yarn Shoppe have been a blessing to me in many ways.
Take good care and happy knitting/crocheting!
Hello, I'm Pat Hensley and I'm a retired special education teacher.
I’ve been a member of the guild for 2 years and started crocheting and knitting in 2007 when I retired from teaching in public school. Besides knitting and crocheting I also spin yarn, love to hike, garden, travel, play on my computer, and learn new things. I am a master naturalist and I also have my ham radio license (KB4HKR).
I love to create new designs that can be found on Lovecrafts and on Ravelry: loonyhiker
